Vibrant Atmosphere at Numaish 2023

The yearly All India Industrial Exhibition(also called Numaish) at the famous Nampally Exhibition grounds in Hyderabad is back. As a child, we used to look forward to this annual exhibition so that we can visit and do some shopping, go on rides, etc. Still remember when we used to call a pillow, exhibition pillow, photo taken in the exhibition from a studio(these were the days of no mobiles, no digital cameras but manual black and white photo prints). Also went on the Giant Wheel and other rides first time here and there are many more such memories.

This is the 82nd edition and was started way back in 1938. You need to be there to witness the Vibrant atmosphere with so many stalls, crowd, lights, etc. The vendors come from all over India including Kashmir, UP, Rajasthan, etc to put up their stalls for different products. The exhibition runs for 45 days from Jan 1st to Feb 15th this year. The entry ticket is Rs.40/- per head including for kids above 5 years of age.

The variety of stalls include clothes, furnishings, toys, food items, kitchen ware, crockery, carpets and also some Government department stalls. There is also an amusement section with rides like Giant Wheel, Tora Tora, Merry Go Round, etc. There is also a mini train which runs around the circumference of the exhibition grounds and one can take it to have a glance of all the stalls quickly. They charge Rs.30 per head for one ride.

You need to be good at bargaining to get good deals of products you want to buy. Also take note that the mobile signals are not so good. So carry some cash as most of the stalls do no accept cards. Some stalls offer special discount, if booked at the exhibition. There are a few informative stalls from Government like Reserve bank of India, Telangana Police department, DWCRA bazaar, Telanagana Industrialists federation, etc. Traffic police also setup a stall and there is a simulation ride for kids on bicycles to educate about the traffic rules and signals, etc.

There are plenty of fast food options to choose from including Gokul Chat bhandar, popcorns, Masqati ice creams, Pista House, etc.

It is open from 3.30 pm to 11pm daily. Try to reach early by 3.30 or 4pm so that you can beat the crowd and move a bit freely.
