Beeramguda Shiva Temple

Sri Brahmaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy Devasthanam also known as Beeramguda Shiva Temple located around 25 kms from Hyderabad is dedicated to Lord Siva and is believed to be built around 6th century CE. This temple was a big pilgrimage center during the times of Badami Chalukyas, Rashtrakutas, Kalyani Chalukyas and Kakatiyas. It is located on a small hillock and is similar to Srisailam temple.

As per folklore, it was manifested after Sage Brugu Maharshi did penance. In the South West corner there is believed to be a secret tunnel from here to Srisailam. During the Chanukyas reign, a jain king by name Immadi Jayasimha used to live here between 1015 and 1042 CE. His wife, Nugguladevi was a great devotee of Siva and used to do regular poojas in this temple.

There are also small temples of Lord Ganesha, Lord Subrahmanya Swamy(along with Devasena and Valli devi), Lord Hanuman, Kala Bhairava and Navagrahas within the temple premises. The main temple is quite old but the premises is renovated and looks new as it was built later. There is Bala Samskara Kendram every Sunday from 10 am and Bhajans on every Monday from 11 am. Lalitha Sahasranama Parayanam at 10 am on Mondays. There is ample parking space near the temple.

Temple timings : The temple is open from 5.30 am to 12 pm and from 5 pm to 8 pm every day.
