Things to do in Bhedaghat
Bhedaghat is a very beautiful tourist place near Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh. There are quite a few things to do in this small little place and here are a few places to visit in Bhedaghat.
Dhuandhar Waterfalls: Very beautiful waterfalls located on the Narmada river at Bhedaghat. The height is around 30 meters and abundant water flows through out the year. Suggest going there in the early morning hours as there is not much of rush. There is no entry ticket for the same and one has to walk down around 1 km from the main road through the shops to reach here. There is also a ropeway near the falls which opens at 10 am and takes you over the falls from one side to the other.

Marble Rocks formation and boating point: Amazing view of the marble rock formations on either side of the boat ride in the water. The initial point for which they charge 800 for a 5 seater personal boat is more of brown and other colours marble but if you want to see the actual white marble, you need to go further inside for a fantabulous view. It almost goes to the Duandhar waterfalls. The boat riders also double up as guides and are quite interesting. There were quite a few movies shot here and famous among them being Ashoka movie song starring Shahrukh Khan and Kareena Kapoor. Also the movie Dunki was shot at the place. This is closed during monsoon season from June 15th to Oct 15th as the rocks are submerged in water. Better to go early in the morning to avoid rush.

Chausath Yogini Temple: This temple is on a hilltop near the Narmada river and has around 150 steps to climb. The temple has 64 stone carvings of Yoginis, each with a dedicated shrine and is built in a circular form along the inner wall. This was built in the early 11th century by Kalachuri dynasty and there is a Gauri Shankar temple in the middle of the circular compound which was built a few years later. However, in the later centuries, the Chausath Yogini Temple went through partial destruction and disfiguration of idols by the Islamic rulers who invaded India. One can get a panaromic view of the river Narmada and the city from the top.

These are a few tourist places in Bhedaghat and I covered it as part of Road Trip to Madhya Pradesh.
