Swarnagiri Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple

Swarnagiri Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple located at Manepally Hills in Bhuvanagiri around 50 kms from Hyderabad was built by the management of Manepally Jewellers and inaugurated in January 2024. It is dedicated to Lord Venkateswara and the idol is quite tall around 16ft. There are temples of Maha Ganapathi, Sri Mahalakshmi Amma varu, Padmavathi Ammavaru and Andal Ammavaru in the same compound. There is a huge idol of Lord Hanuman outside the main compound and there is also an idol of Lord Vishnu in reclining position on seshavahanam in the midst of a pool in a separate enclosure.

The architecture of the temple is quite mesmerising and this temple is also called Yadadri Tirumala Devasthanam. There are 5 different types of special darshan available apart from the free darshan. Dakshina Queue line entry – Rs.50/-, Special entry – Rs.300/-(With Srivari vastram and Laddu), Seva entry – Rs.500/-(With Srivari vastram and Laddu), Suvarna Pushparchana – Rs.900/- (for 2 persons with Srivari vastram and Laddu), Special darshanam with Veda Ashirvachanam Seva – Rs.2501/- (for 4 persons with Swamyvari photo, Srivari vastram, Maha prasadam Laddu, Vada and Srivari Teerdham).

There are different Sevas as per the below timings and amount for the same(subject to change anytime).

Mobile phones are not allowed inside the main temple and there is a deposit counter for the same at just outside the main temple. They charge Rs.5/- per mobile. The garbha gruham has a huge idol of Lord Venkateswara and Garudalayam is just opposite the idol. In between, there is a place for Veda Ashirvachanam and homams. There is ample parking space available just next to the temple and they charge Rs.50/- for 4 wheelers. The approach road To and From the temple from the highway is not yet fully laid and muddy. There is a place to offer Thulabaram inside the temple with different items like Jaggery, 2 rupee coins, 5 rupee coins, etc.

Temple Timings : 5.00 am to 9.00 pm daily with a break from 1.30 pm to 2.30 pm on weekdays(Monday to Friday).

Darshan Timings for All : 8.00 am to 8.30 pm daily with a break from 1.30 pm to 2.30 pm on weekdays(Monday to Friday). Darshans are also stopped during Srivari Nevadhana from 12 to 12.30 pm and again from 6 to 6.30 pm.

Sri Venkateswara Swamy Vari Temple TTD, Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad

Sri Venkateswara Swamy Vari Temple is located in the Jubilee Hills area of Hyderabad. It was built by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams(TTD) and inaugurated in March 2019. on a hill and is dedicated to Lord Venkateswara and has a replica of the idol in Tirumala. There are temples of Maha Ganapathi, Sri Mahalakshmi Amma varu and Andal Amma in the same compound. It also has small temple of Lord Hanuman right in front of the main entrance. One can go by steps from the main road or directly from the parking lot.

There are different Daily/Weekly sevas similar to those performed at Tirumala. The timings and charges for the same are as follows:

1. Suprabhatham – Every day at 5am – Ticket amount is Rs.100/-

2. Archana – Every day during Sarva Darsanam – Rs.100/-

3. Thomala Seva – Every day at 6 am – Rs.200/-

There is a separate place to offer coconuts outside the main gopuram. The garbha gruham is gold plated and there is a Dwaja Stambham which is around 45 ft high. There is ample parking space available for 4 wheelers as well as 2 wheelers just next to the temple.

Sri Kasi Visweswara Swamy Temple, Kalabgoor(Kalpaguru) located near Sangareddy, around 70 kms from Hyderabad is a Trikutalayam and has the idols dedicated to Lord Siva, Ananthapadmanabha Swamy and Venugopalaswamy. It is an Ancient temple built in 11th century CE during the Kakatiya period by Ontimitta Obulayya, the disciple of main Senapathi of the Kakatiya king Prataparudra and the architecture closely resembles the Thousand pillar temple in Warangal. There are three garbha grihas with the 3 idols and hence a Hari Hara kshetram where both Siva and Vishnu are worshipped.

Just after the main entrance, there is a beautiful mandapa built for the Nandi. In the south garbha griha of the main temple is the Siva linga, in the west garbha griha is the idol of Ananthapadmanabhaswamy in reclining postion alongwith Lakshmi Devi and Brahma. In the North garbhagriha is the idol of Sri Venugopalaswamy with flute and Sankhuchakra.

It is located on the banks of river Manjeera which is a tributary of Godavari river and is declared a Protected Monument. Manjeera Barrage and Manjeera wildlife sanctuary are very close to this temple

Temple timings : The temple is open from 6 am to 11 am in the morning and 5pm to 7 pm in the evening every day.

Sri Adinarayana Swamy Temple, Kodakanchi is located in Jinnaram Mandal of Sangareddy District around 40 kms from Hyderabad and is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. It is also called Sri Sridevi Bhoodevi Sametha Sri Adinarayana Swamy temple and is Swayambu(self manifeted) along with Garupmantha idol on the ground floor. It was built in 10th century CE and similar to Kanchi temple in Tamil Nadu, it has the golden and silver lizards on the wall touching which would relieve one of doshas because of lizard. In Telangana folklore, it is said that even if one is not able to visit Kanchi in their lifetime, visit Kodakanchi. It has a huge Peepal tree, pool(kolanu/gundam) and is surrounded by fields. There is also a lake next to the temple and gives a very peaceful atmosphere.

It is believed that Lord appeared in the dreams of Allani Ramoji Rao around 1000 years back and told him that his idol can be found in Mambapur forest area and that should be worshipped. They went in search of the idol and found it in a hole. They then got it to Kodakanchi and they found the idol already on a small hillock which is where the current idol is.

It also has idols of Siva linga along with Nandi and Lord Hanuman in a small temple just outside the main compound under a huge Neem tree. It has a very old gopuram at the entrance and the main temple which is on top of a rock has some newly built platform. It is around 8 kms from the Sultanpur ORR exit number 4.

Temple timings : The temple is open from 6 am to 11 am(but open till 12 noon mostly) and again from 4 pm to 6 pm every day.

Mata Nimishambika Devi Temple Boduppal is located in Pentareddy Nagar of Boduppal in Hyderabad. This is relatively new and was constructed in the year 2002 and is dedicated to Goddess Nimishambika Devi(incarnation of Goddess Parvathi). It is known for fulfilling the wishes about Studies, Jobs, Health, Business, Children, etc which are wished in a minute and with 16 Pradakshinas around the temple. There are also small temples of Ganesha, Rama, Sai Baba, Dattatreya, Siva and Hanuman in the same premises.

The idol has 4 hands and one hand has Trishul and the other a damarukam. The idol is decorated in a variety of ways throughout the year and especially during the Sravana Masam. On every Pournami day, there is a mass Satyanarayana pooja and Anna Danam on every Friday.

There is a Dwaja sthambham at the entrance. It is famous for Pradakshinas that devotees make before making a wish and after the wish is fulfilled. The devotees come and do 16 pradakshinas(going around the temple) while wishing for something and once their wish is fulfilled, they come back and make 108 pradakshinas. This temple has become famous with devotees off late as it is believed that the wishes are granted within 21 minutes or 21 days.

It is located within the houses in Penta Reddy Colony of Boduppal, around 6 kms from Uppal Metro station and 2 kms from Boduppal Bus Depot.

Temple Timings: 6 am to 12.30 pm in the morning and 5.30 pm to 8.30 pm in the evening.

Pradakshina Timings : 6 am to 9 am and 2 pm to 5 pm

Here are a few dams around Hyderabad which look good especially when the gates are lifted during Monsoons when there is a lot of water inflow.

Singur Dam – Around 90 kms from Hyderabad, this is a reservoir built on Manjeera river and serves as a source of drinking water for Hyderabad city. It is also used for hydroelectric and irrigational purposes.

Pocharam Dam – Around 110 kms from Hyderabad and just 15 kms from Medak, this small dam is built on Alair river and also has a wildlife sanctuary by the same name. It has a green lawn just next to the water body which makes a very good picnic spot for families.

Kinnerasani Dam – Around 300 kms from Hyderabad and 38 kms from the temple town of Bhadrachalam, it has a dam and a good picnic spot for locals and visitors alike.

Sriramsagar Dam– Around 205 kms from Hyderabad, it is one of the largest dams in Telengana and built on Godavari river.

Nagarjuna Sagar – Around 155 kms from Hyderabad and is located on the Telangana-Andhra Pradesh border. It serves both the states for irrigation and power. It is one of the largest dams in India and also has the beautiful Etipothala waterfalls near by. It also has Nagarjuna Konda(an island) for which one needs to take a ferry on the Krishna river.

Srisailam – Around 225 kms from Hyderabad in Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh, it has a beautiful dam.
