Cheeryal Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple
Cheeryal Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple dedicated to Lord Narasimha Swamy is located in Cheeryala village of Keesara Mandal around 30 kms from Hyderabad and 10 kms from ECIL X Roads. It is 5 kms from Keesaragutta. It is located amidst the fields and there is a lake opposite the temple. Mallaram Eshwarayya who was a big devotee of Lord Narasimha had a vision of Lord Narasimha who asked him to go to Yadagirigutta and worship him there. He brought a picture of Yadagirigutta Narasimha Swamy and kept it in his pooja room. Later, his son Mallaram Lakshminarayana got Lord Narasimha idol made and kept it in his pooja room. He then chose his fields to build the temple and did Pranapratishta in May 2008.
There is a huge Arch at the main entrance on the main road and it is very colourful. It has idols of Lord Narasimha Swamy along with Lakshmi in the center and Ganesha and Hanuman(carrying the Sanjeevani Parvat) on either sides and then Hanuman idols on the two ends. The middle pillar has Garuda idol and the other two have Jaya and Vijaya idols. Also, there is one smaller arch closer to the temple but with only 3 idols(Lord Narasimha Swamy along with Lakshmi in the center and Ganesha and Hanuman carrying the Sanjeevani Parvat). There is a container with a turtle in the water just in front of the gopuram.
The main gopuram is colourful and also the interiors of the temple. The garbhagruha has the idol of Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy along with Lakshmi Devi. There are smaller temples of Lord Ganesha and Lord Hanuman in the same premises and temples of Lord Siva, Bramarambha and Ganga and Subrahmanya Swamy just behind the main temple. Also, smaller temples of Goddess Bangaru Maisamma and Goddess Nallapochamma. Navagrahas with wives(it is quite unique). The compound wall along the Pradakshina path has the idols of the 10 incarnations of Lord Vishnu or Dasavataaras. It is believed that if one does 41 Pradakshinas and wishes something that is fullfilled.
There are special darshans and the ticket charges for the same are:
Seeghra darsanam – 200/-(4 members of the same gothram are allowed)
Swarna Pushparchana – 300/-(4 members of the same gothram are allowed)
Special Swarna Pushparchana – 500/-(4 members of the same gothram are allowed)
There is ample parking space available and they charge Rs.30/- for four wheelers and Rs.20/- for two wheelers.
Temple timings : The temple is open from 7 am to 12.45 pm(open till 1.45 pm on Saturday and Sunday) and from 4 pm to 8 pm every day.
