Kaziranga Orchid Park
Kaziranga National Orchid and Biodiversity Park also called Kaziranga Orchid Park is located in Durgapur in Assam, very near to the Kaziranga National Park(Central and Western range entrances). It has various attractions and facilities available like the Orchidarium with nearly 2000 species of wild Orchids, Assam National museum of folk musical instruments, Cactus Garden, Bamboo and Cane garden with over 80 varieties, Children’s park, Tree House, Cultural programs showcasing the real ethnic cultural beauty of North East India, lakes with boating facilities, etc.

As soon as you enter the Kaziranga Orchid Park, you come across Orchidarium which houses a lot of varieties of beautiful Orchids in different shapes and colours. There are around 2000 species of Orchids and considered to the the largest in India. Better to engage a guide, who is available inside to know about the various Orchids.



Just outside the Orchid enclosure is the Assam National Museum which showcases the different musical instruments used in Assam and also the live handloom practices.


Then there is a Cactus park with a few varieties of Cactus on display.



There is a Bamboo and Cane park with around 80 varieties of Bamboo including the Black bamboo. This park is very scenic and also has a Tree House. There is a garden with 101 Leafy vegetables.





There is a Children park with a few slides and swings, a kaleidoscope with mirrors all around and also a food court which serves local Assam cuisine.

There is a center for promoting local cultures of Assam. There is a Cultural show every evening from 6.30 pm to 8 pm and there are different types of traditional dances of Assam including Bihu dance, Bamboo dance, etc. They charge 400/- for this show.
