Naga Devatha Temple, Tirumalagiri

Naga Devatha Temple, Tirumalagiri is located in the Tirumalagiri area of Secunderabad in the Cantonment area. As per the folklore, during the British era, an official directed his men to demolish Nagamma Temple and it was demolished in his presence on a Friday. Within a week, on the next Friday, the British official, his horse and pet dog were found dead before the temple. Sree Jayalakshmi Amma Garu started worshipping Nagamata at the age of 7 and she was married to Devarajan of Secunderabad. She gave birth to Sree Narayana Swmay in 1956, who is believed to be the incarnation of Naga Devatha. He started meditation at the early age of 8 years. At the age of 9, in 1965, he rested his soul in Naga Devatha.

After losing her son Amma Garu stopped taking food and mourned his loss. Goddess Naga Devatha assures Amma Garu that Sree Narayana Swamy will appear before her soon. Amma Garu along with family members started the temple construction, as per the orders of Naga Devatha. Military orders Amma Garu to stop the construction work and fence the constructed area of the temple. Naga Devatha appears in front of the military guards on night duty and construction work continues without any objection, since they had darshan of Naga Devatha.
