Narsapur Forest Urban Park
Narsapur Forest Urban Park is around 48 kms from Hyderabad on the Hyderabad-Medak highway and within the Narsapur forest area. The forest area was restricted for general public entry before but opened to public in June 2020. There is a walkway and trekking path to move around the park and a watch tower from where one can have a beautiful view of the forest and Narsapur lake. The watch tower is a 3 level tower with seating area at each level. The trekking distance to the watch tower is around 500 m and there are some seating arrangements on the way. This is a bit steep in some places and we can say the trek is medium level. There is also a narrow trekking path from the watch tower to lake/cottages which is a bit more challenging.
There is an entry fee of Rs.50/- for adults and Rs.30/- for kids. There is a charge of Rs.100/- for camera. No bags or food items are allowed inside the park as there are lot of monkeys and they may attack for food. There are no shops available here for water or any food items. So better to carry the same. Water bottles are allowed and they charge Rs.20/- for plastic bottles which will be returned upon showing the same at exit. There are parking charges of Rs.20/- for three & four wheelers and Rs.10/- for two wheelers in the parking area opposite the main entrance.
There are some cottages being built next to the lake for stay and should be made available for stay soon. There are some other places to visit nearby like the Bonthapally Veerabhadra swamy temple, Medalamma temple, etc. If we go further ahead, can go to Medak church, Edupayala temple and Pocharam reservoir.
Park Timings : 9.00 am to 5.30 pm from Tuesday to Sunday and the park is closed on Mondays.
