Sri Ranganayaka Swamy Temple

Sri Ranganayaka Swamy Temple is dedicated to Lord Ranganathaswamy and was built in the year 1540 CE(as informed by the priests there) by Kings who ruled the Wanaparthy Sansthan. It is inspired by the famous Srirangam Temple in Tamil Nadu which has a similar temple built near Mysore. It is located in Telangana around 180 kms from Hyderabad in Srirangapur village near Pebbair on the Hyderabad-Bengaluru Highway(NH44). It is around 10 kms from the Highway. The presiding deity is Lord Vishnu in sleeping position and there are idols of Vishnu, Sreedevi and Bhoodevi also in front of the main idol.

Ratnapushkarini lake is just next to the temple with lot of water and presents a very good view. The idol is believed to have been self manifested in the village near Kothakota and brought here. There is a small corridor next to the main temple within the complex. Quite a few tourists from neighbouring states of Karnataka and Maharashtra also visit in good numbers. The architecture is inspired by the Krishnadevaraya time Vijayanagara empire. Koti Utsavalu are held during the Sankranthi festival and Kalyanam. There is a 20/- ticket for Archana. There is free parking space available just next to the temple.
