Sri Sita Rama Chandra Swamy Temple, Ammapally
Ammapally Temple or Sri Sita Rama Chandra Swamy Temple, Ammapally or Ammapalli is located in Narkhuda Village of Shamshabad Mandal in Ranga Reddy district of Telangana around 31 kms from Hyderabad and just 12 kms from Rajiv Gandhi International Airport(RGIA). It is dedicated to Lord Rama and the temple is quite old, believed to be built during the Chalukyas era around 1000 years back and some part was built around 300 years back. This temple is located among fields and spread across 250 acres area. It also has small temples of Hanuman and Siva Linga outside the main premises. Also has a stepwell inside with water and a walkway around it.
There is a Monthly Kalyanam on every Punarvasu Nakshtram and they charge 2500/- for the same. The charges for other Arjitha sevas are as follows: Archana – 30/-, Antaralaya Darsanam(for 2) – 116/-, Vehicle Pooja – 116/-, Sivabhishekam in Siva temple – 116/-, Monthly Archana – 501/-, Saasvata Pooja(yearly one day) – 5000/-.
The main garbha gruha is quite old and there is an access to the first floor around the temple. Around 400 movies were shot here like Murari featuring Mahesh Babu, Veera, Teenmaar, Gudumba Sankar and Jalsa featuiring Pawan Kalyan, Mr. Perfect and Rebel featuring Prabhas, Yagnam featuring Gopichand. Following a mishap, the movie shootings have been stopped here but now famous for photo shoots for pre-wedding, post-wedding, maternity and family photos. They charge 3000/- for the photo shoot. There is also a Kalyana Mandapam next to the temple for weddings. There is ample parking space available at Ammapally temple for 4 wheelers as well as 2 wheelers and they charge 50/- for 4 wheelers.
Temple Timings: 6.30 am to 1.00 pm and 3.30 pm to 7.00 pm daily.
Annadanam : Every Sunday at 1 pm and devotees can contribute for the same either in cash or through online payment mode.
