Warangal and Laknavaram Trip
We were looking for a place around Hyderabad within 4-5 hrs drive for a 3-4 day road trip and zeroed in on Warangal and Laknavaram lake. Booked the room at Haritha resort in Laknavaram lake online and also a hut in Tadvai huts for one night in the Eturunagaram Wildlife Sanctuary. We started from Hyderabad(Hi-tech City area) around 11 am in the morning.
Day 1: Drive from Hyderabad to Laknavaram lake directly which took around 5.5 hours with a lunch break in between for 30 mins. Reached Haritha resort in the evening just before sunset around 5.15 pm. Went for a walk on the two hanging bridges there after checking in. The resort is situated in the lake and need to reach through the hanging bridge there after parking the car near the entrance of the bridge. The luggage also need to be carried all the way from there. The balcony opens into the lake and you see water all around. Very beautiful scenery. Stayed there overnight and had dinner in the room itself. There were lots of monkeys at the parking area and need to be a bit careful.

Day 2: Spent some more time in the morning roaming around the resort, went for speed boating in the lake and then checked out. Started to Tadvai Huts, located in the midst of Eturunagaram Wildlife Sanctuary around 50 kms from Laknavaram Lake and reached around 11.30 am. Checked in to one of the hut(there are 6 huts in all) and visited Kondeti View point which gives a good view of part of sanctuary. From there went to Dolemens (cave like structures built few 100 years back) and Medaram temple which is famous for the Samakka Saralamma Jatara(considered the largest tribal festival in the world). After that had lunch at the huts and visited the Blackberry Island in the evening. It is located around 1 km from the main road in a peaceful atmosphere and like beach by a stream of water. Spent some time there and came back to the hut. Had dinner in the resort and took rest.

Day 3: Went for some cycling in the morning and visited the Eturunagaram Wildlife Sanctuary museum located at the Huts. Checked out around 11 am from Tadvai huts and visited Bogatha Waterfalls which took around 1 hour from there. As it was December there was less water in the falls which is also known as Niagara of Telangana. From there visited Ramappa Temple which is around 1.5 hrs and had a lunch break in between. This is a very old temple built with beautiful architecture. Went for speed boating in Ramappa Lake which is close by and reached Warangal city by evening.

Day 4: In the morning, visited Bhadrakali temple which is very well maintained, Thousand Pillar Temple which is famous for it’s architecture and after lunch visited Warangal Fort remains which has the famous arch that is part of Telangana logo. After that, started back to Hyderabad and reached home around 10.15 pm.
