Temples in Hyderabad
Hyderabad city has a rich cultural heritage and there are quite a few temples in this city. Here are the various temples in Hyderabad.
1. Birla Mandir – Birla Mandir is dedicated to Lord Venkateswara Swamy and located on a hill called Naubath Paahad in the heart of Hyderabad city.


2. Sri Jagannath Temple, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad – Sri Jagannath Temple is dedicated to Lord Jagannath(form of Lord Krishna) in Banjara Hills area of Hyderabad city.

3. Ujjaini Mahankali Temple, Secunderabad – Ujjaini Mahankali Temple is dedicated to Goddess Mahankali and located in Secunderabad very close to the Railway station.

4. Balkampet Yellamma Temple – Balkampet Yellamma Temple is dedicated to Goddess Yellamma and is located in Balkampet area of Hyderabad very close to Ameerpet.


5. Karmanghat Hanuman Temple – Karmanghat Hanuman Temple is dedicated to Lord Hanuman and located in Karmanghat area of Hyderabad.

6. Sri Peddamma Talli Temple, Hyderabad – Dedicated to Peddamma Thalli, it is located in Jubilee Hills area of Hyderabad.

7. Sri Tadbund Veeranjaneya Swamy Devasthanam, Tadbund, Secunderabad– Dedicated to Lord Hanuman this is located in Tadbund area of Secunderabad and is quite old. It is famous for the vehicle poojas that happen everyday.

8. Sri Venkateswara Swamy Vari Temple, TTD, Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad – Located in the Jubilee Hills area of Hyderabad, it was built and being maintained by TTD.


9. Hare Krishna Golden Temple, Hyderabad – Located in the Banjara Hills area of Hyderabad, it is the first Golden Temple in Hyderabad. It has idols of Krishna and Radha and also Swayambu Narasimha Swamy which is believed to be over 1000 years old.


10. Chilkur Balaji Temple – Sri Chilkur Balaji temple is dedicated to Lord Venkateswara Swamy and located in Chilkur village around 30 kms from Hyderabad.

11. Ammapally Temple – Sri Seetha Rama Chandra Swamy Temple, Ammapally is dedicated to Lord Rama and located near Shamshabad airport around 30 kms from Hyderabad. It is one of the oldest temple.


12. Keesaragutta – Keesaragutta Rama Lingeshwara Swamy Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is located in on a hill in Keesara village around 35 kms from Hyderabad.

13. Dakshin Badrinath – Dakshin Ke Badrinath temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and located near Medchal town on the outskirts of Hyderabad at around 35 kms distance.

14. Sanghi Temple – Sanghi Temple is dedicated to Lord Venkateswara and located in Sanghi Nagar around 35 kms from Hyderabad.

15. Sri Bramarambha Mallikarjuna Swamy Devastanam, Beeramguda – Dedicated to Lord Siva, this is a 1000 year old temple located in Beeramguda on the outskirts of Hyderabad. Sri Venkateswara Ananda Aalayam temple dedicated to Sri Venkateswara Swamy which is newly built is also located just next to this temple.


16. Nimishambika Devi Temple, Boduppal: Dedicated to Goddess Nimishambika(Incarnation of Goddess Durga), this is a relatively new temple built in 2002 and located in Pentareddy colony of Boduppal. Devotees visit this temple to wish for something and fulfill their wishes.

17. Hyderabad Bengali Swarna Shilpi Vivekananda Kali Mandir, Narkhuda, Shamshabad : Dedicated to Goddess Kali, this temple was built by the Hyderabad Bengali Swarna Shilpi Community and inaugurated in 2019 and located in Narkuda Village of Shamshabad Mandal. It has 4 other small temples dedicated to Ganesha, Hanuman, Siva and Balaji.

18. Sri Puri Jagannath Temple, IDA Bolarum, Hyderabad : Dedicated to Lord Jagannath(Form of Lord Krishna), this temple was built by the Hyderabad Odiya Community and inaugurated in 2018 and located in IDA Bollarum. It has 4 other small temples under construction.

19. Sri Swaminarayan Temple, Secunderabad : Dedicated to Sri Swaminarayan, this temple was built by the Sri Swaminarayan trust in the year 2004.

20. Cheeryala Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple, Cheeryal, Keesara Mandal : Dedicated to Lord Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy, this temple was inaugurated in May 2008.

21. Sri Suryanarayana Swamy Temple, Tirumalagiri, Secunderabad : Dedicated to Sun God, this is the only such temple dedicated to Sun in Telangana state and located in the Tirumalagiri area of Secunderabad.

22. Sri Nagadevatha Temple, Tirumalagiri, Secunderabad : Dedicated to Nagadevatha, this is located in the Tirumalagiri area of Secunderabad

23. Sri Shivshakthi(Ardhanareeswara) Temple, Kondapur, Hyderabad : Dedicated to Lord Siva and Parvathi as Ardhanareeswara, this is located in the Kondapur area of Hyderabad.

24. Sri Ranganatha Swamy Temple, Rangbagh, Nanakramguda, Hyderabad : Dedicated to Lord Ranganatha Swamy(form of Lord Vishnu), this is located in the Nanakramguda area in the Financial district of Hyderabad. It is quite an old temple surrounded by the huge buildings and Corporate offices of big companies.

25. Sri Visalakshi Sametha Kasi Viswanatha Temple, KPHB, Hyderabad : Dedicated to Lord Siva and Parvathi, this is located in the KPHB 6th Phase area of Hyderabad.

26. Mahabodhi Buddha Vihara, Secunderabad: Dedicated to Lord Buddha, this is located in the Mahendra Hills area of Secunderabad. This is on a hill and very peaceful place with beautiful views of the city from the top.

27. Sri Pahadi Hanuman Temple, Secunderabad : Dedicated to Lord Hanuman, Saibaba and other Gods, this is located in the Mahendra Hills area of Secunderabad. This also has a very big statue of Lord Siva.

28. Sri Datta Avadhoota Dattatreya Temple, Dundigal : Dedicated to Lord Sri Avadhoota Dattatreya Swamy, Sri Karya Siddhi Anjaneya Swamy Temple and Sri Panchamukha Patala Anjaneya Swamy temple, this is located in Dundigal next to ORR exit 5 and near the Airforce Academy. This also has a very big idols of Lord Sri Dattatreya Swamy, Lord Ganesha and Lord Hanuman.

29. Sri Subrahmanya Swamy temple, Skandagiri, Padmarao Nagar, Secunderabad: Dedicated to Lord Subrahmanya Swamy, Skandagiri Temple is located in Padmarao Nagar, Secunderabad. This is run by the Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam.
