Warangal – Around 150 kms from Hyderabad, famous for the Warangal fort, Thousand Pillar Temple, Bhadrakali Temple and Ramappa temple near by.

Laknavaram lake – Around 210 kms from Hyderabad and 60 kms from Warangal, beautiful lake with hanging bridge, Haritha resort on the lake with boating facilities and serene atmosphere surrounded by hills.

Ananthagiri Hills – Around 80 kms from Hyderabad and the closest Hill station near Hyderabad with a few trekking options, good view of sunrise and sunset, Ananthapadmanabha swamy temple and good place for Birders for photograghy.

Ramoji Film City – Around 35 kms from Hyderabad on the VIjayawada highway, it is one of the largest film cities in the world. There are a lot of tourist attractions, fun rides, shooting spots/film sets of major movies, live shows, beautiful landscapes, etc. A perfect spot to spend with family and friends.

Wonderla Amusement Park – Around 35 kms from Hyderabad and 17 kms from the Hyderabad airport, Wonderla Amusement park has a rides for all ages including High thrill ones and water park with water rides.

Bidar – Around 140 kms from Hyderabad in the state of Karnataka, it has a very old fort, a gurudwara and a Narasihma Swamy temple.

Hampi – Around 375 kms from Hyderabad, Hampi group of monuments are the ruins of Vijayanagara Empire and magnificient. It also has the famous Virupaksha temple and the stone chariot which can be found on the Rs.50/- note.

Badami Caves – Around 420 kms from Hyderabad in the state of Karnataka, Badami caves house Hindu, Buddhist and Jain cave temples and was the capital of Chalukyas in 6th century CE.

Singur Dam – Around 90 kms from Hyderabad, this is a reservoir built on Manjeera river and serves as a source of drinking water for Hyderabad city. It is also used for hydroelectric and irrigational purposes.

Kondapochamma Reservoir – Around 50 kms from Hyderabad, it offers a perfect picnic spot and one can stroll along the water on the dam built. There are beautiful views that it has to offer.

Pocharam Dam and Wildlife Sanctuary – Around 110 kms from Hyderabad and just 15 kms from Medak, this small dam is built on Alair river and also has a wildlife sanctuary by the same name. It has a green lawn just next to the water body which makes a very good picnic spot for families.

Eturunagarm Wildlife Sanctuary – Around 255 kms from Hyderabad it is a dense forest area. The famous Medaram temple where the tribal fest(Sammakka-Saralamma jatara) is held once in every 2 years is also in this area. It also has Dolemans(cave like structures), Kondeti view point, Blackberry island and few other points.

Chincholi Wildlife Sanctuary – Around 140 kms from Hyderabad and on the Telangana-Karnataka border, it has a lot of Eucalyptus trees, a temple, waterfalls and the Chandrampally dam.

Kinnerasani Wildlife Sanctuary and Dam – Around 300 kms from Hyderabad and 38 kms from the temple town of Bhadrachalam, it has a dam and wildlife sanctuary next to each other and a good picnic spot for locals and visitors alike.

Sriramsagar Dam– Around 205 kms from Hyderabad, it is one of the largest dams in Telengana and built on Godavari river.

Nagarjuna Sagar – Around 155 kms from Hyderabad and is located on the Telangana-Andhra Pradesh border. It serves both the states for irrigation and power. It is one of the largest dams in India and also has the beautiful Etipothala waterfalls near by. It also has Nagarjuna Konda(an island) for which one needs to take a ferry on the Krishna river.

Etipothala Waterfalls – Around 180 kms from Hyderabad and the beautiful waterfalls located close to Nagarjuna sagar is a must visit place.

Bogatha Waterfalls – Around 278 kms from Hyderabad on the border of Telangana and Chhattisgarh, it is also called the Niagara falls of Telangana. It is close to Eturunagaram wildlife sanctuary and can be combined for a weekend getaway.

Kuntala Waterfalls – Around 265 kms from Hyderabad on the NH44(10kms inside) and is considered to be the biggest waterfalls in Telangana. One needs to climb down quite a few steps to get a view of the waterfalls.

Pochera Waterfalls – Around 265 kms from Hyderabad on the NH44(other side to Kuntala waterfalls) and is small compared to Kuntala but very good.

Mallela Theertam Waterfalls – Around 190 kms from Hyderabad on the Srisailam Highway and located in Nallamala forest.

Komati Cheruvu, Siddipet – Around 100 kms from Hyderabad in Siddipet, this lake has a hanging bridge, sky cycling, Ruby necklace park, Night garden, boating and other activities for the whole family.

Shamirpet Lake – Around 27 kms from Hyderabad and a good place to spend with family and friends along the lake side.


Dhola-ri-Dhani – Around 20 kms from Hyderabad on the Medchal Highway(NH 44), it is a Rajasthani village theme based resort with water games, camel ride, Rajasthani style lunch and other activities.

Orvakallu Rock Garden, Kurnool – Around 250 kms from Hyderabad on the outskirts of Kurnool town, the rock garden has a lot of very old rock formations, some few 1000s of years old. It also has a few figures of animals made of old automobile parts. Haritha resort is also inside the Rock garden for night stay.

Kandlakoya Oxygen Park – Located around 18 kms from Hyderabad in Kandlakoya Village near Medhachal and has a very good natural canopy walk, butterfly garden, a tree house and a bird aviary too. It makes a very good picnic spot for families.

KCR ECO Urban Park – Around 90 kms from Hyderabad, it is also called Mayuri Haritha Vanam or Mayuri park at Shankarayapalle village near Mahbubnagar town on the Mahbubnagar-Jadcherla road. It is a park with lots of greenery and other mini parks like Butterfly park, Currency park, Jungle Safari, etc. It was inaugurated in July 2020 and is part of the 2087 acres of forest area. Very nice picnic spot for families.

Gandikota – Around 380 kms from Hyderabad, it is also called Grand Canyon of India and makes for a beautiful weekend getaway with spots for trekking and camping and ruins of a fort. Makes for a good spot for photo shoots also.

Bhongir Fort – Around 50 kms from Hyderabad, it is located on a Huge rock around 610 meters high and one has to climb quite a few steps to reach the top.


Rachakonda Fort – Around 60 kms from Hyderabad, it has a few trekking spots and ruins of a fort. There are some good views from the top of this hill.

Statue of Equality – Around 35 kms from Hyderabad in Muchintal village, it has a huge 216 feet tall statue of Hindu saint Ramanujacharya from 11th century CE. It also has the replicas of 108 Divya desams(Vaishnavite temples). It was inaugurated in the year 2022.

Rashtrapati Nilayam – Around 13 kms from Hyderabad in Bolarum area of Secunderabad, it is official retreat of the President of India where the President stays for a few days every year during winter as part of Southern Sojourn to conduct official business. It used to be open for public viewing only for a few days in early January every year till 2023 but is now open throughout the year. It has Landscaped gardens, seasonal flowering plants, natural cascading waterfalls, Rock garden, Herbal Garden, etc.

Dakshin Badrinath Temple – Around 40 kms from Hyderabad, Dakshin Badrinath or Dakshin ke Badrinath is a replica of the main Badrinath temple in Uttarakhand. It is located in Bandamailaram village near Medchal and built in 2023.

Keesaragutta – Around 35 kms from Hyderabad, it is one of the famous Lord Siva temples in Hyderabad and has a beautiful view from the top. It has a lot of Siva lingas spread across.

Surendrapuri – Around 60 kms from Hyderabad near Yadagirigutta, this magnificent mythological theme park has larger statues of the celestial world and major episodes from the epics of Ramayana, Mahabharata and puranas. It has around 3000 sculptures.

Bhukailas Temple, Tandur – Around 110 kms from Hyderabad, this relatively newly constructed temple in Tandur town of Vikarabad District is another temple with a touch of mythological theme park including 65 ft statue of Lord Siva, Kalabhairava statue, Veerabhadra statue, etc. It has a water path to visit the main deity of Siva where the Dwadasa Jyotirlingas are placed.

Yadadri or Yadagirigutta Temple – Around 60 kms from Hyderabad, Yadagirigutta or Yadadri temple is situated in the Yadadri-Bhuvanagiri District of Telangana state and is one of the two Nava Narasimha Kshetras in Telangana(rest 7 are in Andhra Pradesh). This was renovated recently by the Telangana State Government in the year 2022.

Jogulamba Temple, Alampur – Around 220 kms from Hyderabad, it is dedicated to Goddess Jogulamba and is one of the 18 Ashtadasa Maha Sakthi Peeta temples. It is located on the banks of Tungabhadra river and has the Navabrahma temples, a group of nine Siva temples built in the seventh-eighth century CE.

Bhadrachalam – Around 315 kms from Hyderabad, this temple dedicated to Lord Rama was built by Bhakta Ramadas on the banks of Godavari river and is on the border of Telangana and AP states. It has Parnasala around 30 kms away, which is believed to be the place where Ravana abducted Sita before taking her to Lanka.

Basara – Around 200 kms from Hyderabad, it is located on the banks of Godavari river and is one of the very few Saraswati Devi temples. It is famous for Aksharabhyasam(starting a child’s educational journey) for kids at the age of 2 years and it is believed that this ritual helps kids do well in education later in their life.

Vemulawada – Around 150 kms from Hyderabad, it is famous for Sri Raja Rajeswara Swamy temple that is Lord Siva.

Kaleshwaram – Around 265 kms from Hyderabad, it is famous for Kaleshwara Mukteswara Swamy Temple dedicated to Lord Siva.

Chaya Someswara Temple, Panagal – Around 100 kms from Hyderabad near Nalgonda town, Chaya Someswara Temple, Panagal has sanctums of Siva, Vishnu and Surya(Sun God).

Wargal Saraswati Temple – Around 50 kms from Hyderabad, Sri Vidya Saraswati Temple is one of the two famous Saraswati temples(other being Basara) in Telangana and quite a few kids have their Aksharabhyasam(start of child’s education journey) here.

Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple, Sri Vaikuntapuram, Sangareddy – Around 65 kms from Hyderabad on the outskirts of Sangareddy, the Sri Vaikuntapuram temple has a huge idol of Sri Venkateswara Swamy similar to Tirumala and is located amidst the fields.

Sri Rama Chandra Swamy temple, Ammapally – Around 30 kms from Hyderabad, it is one of the oldest(around 1000 years old) temples around Hyderabad Sri Seetha Ramaswamy temple is dedicated to Lord Rama.

Dharmapuri – Around 225 kms from Hyderabad, Lakshmi Narasimha swamy temple in Dharamapuri is one of the two Nava Narasimha Swamy temples in Telangana(other 7 are in AP state) and is on the banks of Godavari river.

Kotilingala – Around 218 kms from Hyderabad on the banks of Godavari river, it is dedicated to Lord Siva and is one of the oldest temples in Telangana.

Ranganayaka Swamy Temple – Around 175 kms from Hyderabad, Sri Ranganayaka Swamy Temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and located in Srirangapur village of Wanaparthy(erstwhile Mahabubnagar) district on the Kurnool highway. This is one of the old temples in Telangana.

Kondagattu Anjaneya Swamy temple – Around 200 kms from Hyderabad, Kondagattu Anjaneya Swamy Temple is dedicated to Lord Hanuman and is located in Jagityal(erstwhile Karimnagar) district .

Edupayala Vana Durga Bhavani Temple – Around 110 kms from Hyderabad, Sri Edupayala Vana Durga Bhavani Devalayam is dedicated to Goddess Durga Bhavani and is located in near Medak town in Medak district.

Maheswara Maha Pyramid, Kadthal – Around 50 kms from Hyderabad on the Srisailam Highway near Kadthal, it is the World’s largest meditational pyramid and can accommodate around 5000 people at the same time.

Sri Bramarambha Mallikarjuna Swamy Devastanam, Beeramguda – Dedicated to Lord Siva, this is this 1000 year old temple is located in the outskirts of Hyderabad in Beeramguda. Sri Venkateswara Ananda Aalayam temple dedicated to Sri Venkateswara Swamy which is newly built is also located next to this temple.

Srisailam – Around 225 kms from Hyderabad in Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh, it has Mallikarjuna Swamy temple which is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas and also Bhramaramba devi temple which is one of the 18 Maha Sakthi Peetas. There is also a beautiful dam and a view point called Octopus view point.


Mantralayam – Around 250 kms from Hyderabad, it is dedicated to Sri Raghavendra Swamy and located on the banks of Tungabhadra river.

Ahobilam – Around 350 kms from Hyderabad, it is set of 9 temples and divided into Upper and Lower Ahobilam and others spread across. One has to trek around 3-4 kms to visit a few of these temples.

Mahanandiswara Swamy Temple, Mahanandi – Around 315 kms from Hyderabad, it is dedicated to Lord Shiva and located in Kurnool District of Andhra Pradesh around 15 kms from Nandyala town.

Antarvedi – Around 440 kms from Hyderabad, it is the place where Godavari meets the Bay of Bengal and makes for a very beautiful view with two different colours of water and the calmness of river water versus the waves of the sea. It is also famous for Lord Narasimha swamy temple which is one of the 9 Nava Narasimha Kshetras.


Yaganti – Around 300 kms from Hyderabad, Yaganti Uma Maheswara Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and located in Kurnool District of Andhra Pradesh around 90 kms from Kurnool town. It has a cave also which one has to climb to have Darshan of the goddess Parvathi and it is believed that the Nandi statue here grows an inch every year.

Vontimitta Temple – Around 440 kms from Hyderabad and 115 kms from Tirupati, it is famous for the Rama temple which is quite old and maintained by TTD.

Lepakshi Temple – Around 485 kms from Hyderabad and 125 kms from Anantapur town, it is famous for the Veerabhadra Swamy temple dedicated to Lord Siva and also has a huge statue of Nandi(Bull).

Amaravathi – Around 285 kms from Hyderabad, it has the famous Amareswara Swamy temple, which is one of the 5 Pancharama kshetras in Andhra Pradesh. There is also a big statue of Buddha.

Kotappakonda Temple – Around 270 kms from Hyderabad, it is dedicated to Lord Shiva and located in Palnadu district of Andhra Pradesh around 62 kms from Guntur and 20 kms from Narsaraopet. It is on top of a hill and also surround by hills making it a pleasant experience for pilgrims.

Pochampally – Around 45 kms from Hyderabad, it is famous for it’s silk sarees with ikkat designs that are famous allover the country. It also has a Rural tourism complex.

Belum Caves – Around 325 kms from Hyderabad and 110 kms from Kurnool, the caves are natural and millions of years old.


Borra Caves – Around 670 kms from Hyderabad and 90 kms from Vizag, the caves are located in the Eastern Ghats. They are naturally formed and were discovered by British Geologist William King in the year 1807 CE. Believed to be around 150 million years old. Can be combined with Vizag and Araku Valley.

Maredumilli – Around 430 kms from Hyderabad, it is one of the most beautiful scenic places in the hills of Andhra Pradesh and famous for the greenery in dense forests and few waterfalls. There is also one old Siva temple called Rampa sivalayam.

Horsley Hills – Around 550 kms from Hyderabad and 15 kms from Madanapalle town, it is one of the hills stations in the state of Andhra Pradesh. There are quite a few trekking trails, variety of flora and fauna and beautiful view points from the top.

Araku Valley – Around 665 kms from Hyderabad and 110 kms from Vizag, it is one of the hills stations in the state of Andhra Pradesh and has nice views, tribal museum, coffee plantations, etc.

Gulbarga/Kalaburgi – Around 230 kms from Hyderabad in the state of Karnataka, it has a few attractions like Shree Sharana Basaveshwara Temple, Buddha Vihara which is a Buddhist temple/Spiritual center and Haft Gombaz.


Medak – Around 100 kms from Hyderabad, it is famous for Medak Church, Asia’s largest diocese built in 1924 and also the Medak fort. Pocharam reservoir and Edupayala Vana Durga Bhavani temple are nearby.

Narsapur Forest Urban Park: Around 48 kms from Hyderabad, it is a good place for trekking and view of the forest from watch tower.
